A sun-loving succulent bonsai with rounded fleshy leaves on reddish stems – forgiving and quick to shape. This 5 year old Portulacaria Afra is already upright and neatly branched, with plump leaves on reddish stems.
Portulacaria Afra stores water in its rounded, fleshy leaves, which makes it unusually forgiving for a bonsai – skip a watering and it simply carries on. On a sunny windowsill it grows quickly, branches readily and keeps a neat, upright shape with light trimming.
The drip tray is the one shown in the picture — if you can't see a drip tray in the photo, the tree doesn't come with one; if you'd like a drip tray or other pot options, contact us privately at info@bonsainest.dk.
Extra tip: Water less than you think – let the soil dry out completely and wait until the leaves look slightly wrinkled. It genuinely prefers dry air, so no misting is needed.
Every tree ships with a free care guide. Water when the top of the soil feels dry, give it a bright spot without harsh midday sun, and feed once or twice a month in the growing season. Questions? Write to us any time — care advice is free for the life of your tree.

No problem. A care guide is included with your order, and you can always message us with questions — also years after your purchase. It is free.
If your tree is not doing well within 30 days of delivery, or you are not happy with it, contact us and we will replace it or refund you in full.
